Recent Activities

The choir again contributed to the BBC's Songs of Praise "The Big Sing" which was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in September 2008. The two programmes were broadcast in October and December.

October saw the choir in Gloucester Cathedral where they joined ESO and local children's choirs and orchestras for the performance of a new work called Canticum Novum by Stephen Roberts.

In November the Singers joined with the Parliamentary Choir and Southbank Sinfonia at Westminster Cathedral in a performance of Sir Edward Elgar's oratorio The Apostles.

December brought the annual carol concerts in Coventry Cathedral with a family concert in the afternoon and Carols for All in the evening where this year's Songs of Praise senior choir winners Blue Coat School, Coventry were the guest choir.

The following week Saint Michael's Singers were delighted to welcome the ESO Chamber Orchestra back to Coventry to present a candle-lit performance of Handel's masterpiece Messiah.
